BRIEF HISTORY

Graduate School of Life Education and Health Promotion was founded on August 1st, 2004. We began to accept graduate students in the same year. The department is the first graduate school focused on life education and health promotion research.

MISSION

Our mission is to prepare candidates as educators, teachers and promoters in life education and health promotion.

EDUCATIONAL GOALS

Our educational goals are listed as follow:

I. Promote educators in all academic levels for their knowledge in life education and health promotion

II.Prepare academic researchers in life education and health promotion

III.Develop professions in religions, social works, and medical institutions to  dispense the knowledge of life education and health promotion

CHARACTERISTICS

I. Solidify the fundamental theoretic research and practicum in life education and health promotion

II.Encourage faculties and students for Chinese or non-Chinese society broadcasting the benefit of life education and health promotion and strengthen the relationship with other international institutions.  

STUDENT CAPABILITIES

I. Develop students’ analytical ability in life education and health promotion related issues

II.Prepare students to think independently, review and study all issues related to life education and health promotion

III.Summarize all life and health issues

IV.Propose any plans that is related to life education and health promotion subjects

V. Participate in international and domestic conferences for a life long learning in life education and health promotion

COURSE STRUCTURE

Our courses are divided into two major subjects: foundation courses and areas of specializations. Graduate students are required to take 32 credit hours and complete their thesis to graduate. 9 credit hours are required to satisfy the requirement of elective courses, which is available for students to select from other departments or colleges after receiving permission from the Dean of our department.
